Trey Anastasio and Billy Strings Set Two Divided Sky Benefits

WORCESTER, Mass. — Trey Anastasio and Billy Strings will play two benefit concerts for Anastasio’s Divided Sky Foundation at the DCU Center on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21. Both nights are billed as “Trey & Billy,” with the two guitarists performing together and backed by Trey Anastasio Band.

For the first time since the benefit weekend became an annual event, it is not being held in New York. Anastasio staged three Phish shows at Albany’s MVP Arena in October 2024, which raised more than $4 million for the foundation, and three Beacon Jams anniversary concerts at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan in November 2025.

All proceeds go to the Divided Sky Foundation. A presale request period for tickets and Patron Packages runs through 3 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, September 9, with notifications due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, September 10. Remaining tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Eastern on Friday, September 11. Ticket prices were not included in the announcement.

What the foundation does

Anastasio co-founded the Divided Sky Foundation with Melanie Gulde, his former drug court case manager. Its stated mission is making high-quality addiction recovery care more affordable and accessible.

The foundation operates the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program in Ludlow, Vermont, which opened in November 2023.

Both musicians have spoken publicly about their own experiences with substance abuse. Strings lost his mother to an overdose in 2025.

Four years of sitting in

Anastasio and Strings first played together in June 2022, when Anastasio joined Strings for the final six songs of a concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City.

That November, Strings appeared unannounced with Trey Anastasio Band at its stop with Goose at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia.

In August 2024 Strings joined Phish for portions of both nights at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The second of those shows carried the Phish debut of “What’s Going Through Your Mind,” alongside Phish material and bluegrass numbers.

Their most recent meeting was Anastasio’s acoustic concert at Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater in Grand Rapids on June 17, 2026. Strings joined for the back half and the two closed on “First Tube.”

The venue

The DCU Center opened in 1982 at 50 Foster Street in Worcester. It holds 14,800 for concerts and 12,135 for hockey, and is home to the Worcester Railers of the ECHL.

The building is owned by the City of Worcester and managed by ASM Global. It operated as the Centrum in Worcester from 1982 to 1997 and as Worcester’s Centrum Centre from 1997 to 2004.
