moe. Books Two Rome Capitol Theatre Nights on the 2027 No Hibernation Tour

ROME, N.Y. — moe. will play two nights at the Capitol Theatre in Rome on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27, 2027, on the No Hibernation Tour the band announced on September 29.

The Rome shows follow two December nights at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, on December 11 and 12, which open a separate eight-show run of small-venue dates.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 8 both nights in Rome, and the shows are all ages. An artist presale for the tour opens Wednesday, September 30, and the general onsale follows Friday, October 2, both at 10 a.m. local time, though JamBase notes that some dates follow their own ticketing schedules.

A small-room run in December

The run is billed as An Intimate Evening with moe. It is presented by Relix and booked into venues “where we can get nice and cozy,” in the band’s words. The Bearsville Theater holds 500 and is operated by Dayglo Presents.

Three more shows follow December 14 through 16 at a location that had not been named when the run was announced. The run closes December 18 through 20 at Garcia’s in Chicago, a 300-capacity room Dayglo Presents operates with the Jerry Garcia Family.

Tickets for the December run went on sale to the general public on September 18.

Five months on the road in 2027

The No Hibernation Tour runs from January through May. It opens with eight nights at Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, January 28 through 31 and February 3 through 6, which doubles the band’s four-night stand there earlier this year.

The band then plays Jam Cruise and a date in St. Petersburg before the two Rome nights. The western leg starts March 26 and 27 at the Boulder Theater, with further Colorado stops in Beaver Creek, Aspen and Steamboat Springs, then Salt Lake City, Boise, Bend, Portland and Seattle in early April.

Karina Rykman and J & The Causeways open for moe. at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans on April 30, and Civic Theatre ticket holders can attend a May 1 show at Chicky Wah Wah. The tour ends with four nights at the Charleston Pour House in South Carolina, May 13 through 16.

A Buffalo band’s Upstate calendar

moe. formed at the University at Buffalo in 1989, and its members moved to Albany in 1994. The current six-piece lineup is Rob Derhak, Al Schnier, Chuck Garvey, Vinnie Amico, Jim Loughlin and Nate Wilson.

The band has headlined the Adirondack Independence Music Festival at Charles R. Wood Park in Lake George every year since 2021. At this year’s festival on September 5, it played its 1996 album No Doy in full for the record’s 30th anniversary.

Before the December run, moe. plays four West Coast dates October 15 through 18 and two nights at The Wilbur in Boston on October 30 and 31.

The Capitol Theatre

The Capitol opened on December 10, 1928 as part of the Kallet chain of movie houses, to a design by Rochester architect Leon H. Lempert Jr. It showed first-run films until it closed in 1974.

After a renovation it reopened in 1985 as a nonprofit presenting classic films, live theatre and concerts. It seats 1,788.
