Grey Fox Returns to a Live Format at Oak Hill With More Than 40 Bands

OAK HILL, N.Y. — Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival announced its 2022 lineup on February 11, 2022, returning to a live format this July at The Walsh Farm in Greene County.

More than 40 bands are booked across six stages, alongside workshops, dancing, camping, jamming and children’s activities. The festival draws attendees from more than 30 states.

Jerry Douglas serves as artist-in-residence, performing Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Two published date ranges

Two published listings give different date ranges. NYS Music gives the festival window as July 13 through 17, with camping open from 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 13 through 5 p.m. Sunday, July 17. JamBase lists the 2022 music dates as July 14 through 17 at The Walsh Farm, Oak Hill, N.Y. 12460.

Who is on the bill

The announced lineup includes Béla Fleck’s My Bluegrass Heart, Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush Band, Steve Earle & The Dukes, Steep Canyon Rangers, The Travelin’ McCourys, Sierra Hull, Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, The SteelDrivers, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Peter Rowan & Los Texmaniacs, Alison Brown, Della Mae, Gangstagrass and We Banjo 3.

Upstate New York acts on the bill include Donna The Buffalo, the Gibson Brothers and Capital Region band Jim Gaudet & The Railroad Boys.

Camping adds hookups and glamping

Two camping options debut in 2022: RV electrical hookups in Generatorville and the High Meadow Glamping Village.

Free day parking and shuttle buses are provided.

Ticket prices

Advance full-festival tickets are $275 including camping. Advance day passes are $85 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Senior day passes, for ages 62 and over, are $80 at the gate with ID.

Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
