Greensky Bluegrass Release 'Stress Dreams' a Night After Opening in Albany

Greensky Bluegrass released Stress Dreams on January 21, 2022 via Thirty Tigers. The 13-track record is the band’s eighth studio album and its first since 2019’s All For Money.

The release landed one day after the band opened a 19-date winter tour in Albany, N.Y., with The Infamous Stringdusters along as special guests.

The album was produced by Dominic John Davis, who also produced All For Money, and mixed by Glenn Brown.

A record assembled by email

The material grew out of demos the members traded by email and voice note during the 2020 shutdown. The band convened in July 2020 for the first time in four months, and recording followed across one session in Guilford, Vermont and two sessions in Asheville.

A press release for the album quoted Garden & Gun calling the record “one of the most complete and engaging of the group’s more than twenty-year career.”

The title track gets a video

The band released an official music video for the title track, animated by Grant Kolton. It premieres on YouTube on release day at 5 p.m. ET, paired with a live fan chat.

The winter run starts upstate

The 19-date winter tour opened January 20, 2022 in Albany. The run’s second and third stops are The Met Philadelphia on January 21 and The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. on January 22.

The tour wraps with two nights at The Tabernacle in Atlanta on February 25 and 26.
